Yesterday was a great field training day! We ran Maverick and Paisley together! They did amazing!
Glad to see that Paisley's "Backing" training stuck!
Still of Paisley backing Maverick.

Has it really been 7 months?
Oh my gosh... today the Maddie x Maverick litter is 7 months. I cannot believe how big they are getting!
I thought I'd post Paisley's 7 month pictures! She's really turning out quite nicely. I can't wait to see how she does in the ring!

Up close head shot... this was actually taken about 2 weeks ago, and her head has changed slightly. It's gotten just a little more depth in the stop.
Stacked #2
Everything is good around here! Just getting ready for the Holidays!

Not Too Bad...
Paisley found and pointed two birds today at the hunt test. That's great, right? Well... not really... I figured the judge would have passed her (they usually do if the dog even finds one at a Junior level), but he pulled me aside after her run and said she's got a wonderful nose and a beautiful point but she's not a strong hunter. She checks for me to lead her where to go (fair enough... she does do that), so he couldn't give her a passing score. So oh well. She had a great time and had fun being a puppy.... she's got plenty of years of hunting in her.... so all in all... this weekend ended up being a really expensive training session for real. We'll work on getting her more "independent"... heck, all we have to do is run her with Maverick a few times. haha.... Next hunt test is in January and we've got some work to do!

A Very Expensive "Training Session"
I have decided that 30 mph wind gusts are not condusive to hunt tests for pointing breeds. Paisley had her first hunt test today and unfortunately NQ'ed due to a birdless run. The wind was gusting and blowing so hard that hardly any dogs passed. Paisley started her run great hunting and quartering nicely, however, she couldn't pinpoint anything and she got bored halway through her run. She tried to play with the horse and even ate an unmentionable that comes from a horse. She had fun today... no pictures though... Kyle couldn't get close enough for any pictures. So.... we shall try again tomorrow. Wish us luck!
On a happier note... A HUGE Congratulations to "Josh" (CH Tahari's Too Wild To Be Serious; a Maddie x Elliot son and Paisley's half brother) for going Best of Opposite Sex at the AKC/Eukanuba National Championship this year! What a great win!!

Welcome!
So, we're jumping on the bandwagon and trying a blog. Seems a little easier to keep up with than the webpage, too!
Not too much happening down in Texas right now. I have to say, the weather is fantastic for December! But I do miss the Indiana snow( I never thought I'd say that!). We are getting "Paisley" (Envy & Takara's Whirlaway) ready for her first hunt test this upcoming weekend. We're running her in Juniors and we're so excited!
